SERIES 02 | ISSUE 05

When you can’t find clarity, create it.

Clarity is faint, subtle, and breathes from your body only when you’re ready. When you’re ready to be honest with yourself, when you’re ready to ask, when you’re ready to listen.

Clarity isn’t second nature for most of us; especially with all of life’s chaos, noise, and distractions.

What’s your five year career plan? Bruh, I can barely decide what to have for lunch. If there’s one thing that’s certain, it’s that indecision plagues the minds of many.

The good news is, you can polish that inner compass with a little intention, trust, and deliberate practice. Here’s how:

1. Unroot yesterday’s pains

Release yourself from what you can no longer control. This includes the haunting guilt from past failures and the confidence-killing impact of bad experiences. Free yourself so that you can move towards the answers you seek.

2. Celebrate the mundane

Embracing small wins and simple joys is the foundation for attaining the bigger things in life. Start within, find contentment on a micro-level. Stepping on these mini milestones is crucial for paving the path towards where you need to go.

3. Define distractions

We know that we need to set our priorities straight. But how about setting our distractions straight, so that we know what to avoid? Clear the fog. List down three distractions you want to minimize each day (eg. Social media in the mornings, office gossip, self-doubting thoughts) .

4. Less is more

Most times, clarity is not seeking more; It’s seeking only what is true, immediate, and important.

5. Social awareness

How do you want to engage with the world in a way that meets your values? Think about the causes you’d like to represent and take little steps every day to become that person.
